On behalf of the 12th Man Club…

I’d like to thank everyone who contributed his or her time putting this amazing event together this year. Very special thanks go out to Joe and Kathryn Fitzgerald for leading the Honor the Valor committee. It’s a lot of work and very much appreciated.

Secondly, thank you to our players, coaches, parents, 12th Man Board and school Administration who’s support not only makes this event possible, but our Football Program possible. Without their support, this event would not take place.

And finally, Thank You to our honorees, who shared this special evening with us!

Honor the Valor has become a very special event not just for the players or the school, but for the entire community. This event has had a tremendous impact on all those who have participated in it. Especially to those veterans and veteran groups we have honored over the past two years. My hopes are that those who participated this evening felt the same.

2 ½ years ago, I sat in a 12th man club board meeting as the planning for the very first event began. We called in “Wounded Warrior Initiative”.  I don’t think we fully realized just how impactful this event was going to become… for all of us.

I remember the very first HTV Video and how extremely powerful it was hearing commentary from our honorees expressing their appreciation and personally hearing from a few veterans how this event was the very first time they were recognized for their service. The imagery captured and forever embedded in the video from that event summed it all up so eloquently. It brought tears to the eyes of almost everyone who viewed it.

I know we will all look back fondly at this event through the images and memories created here tonight.

I’d like to express a final word of GRATITUDE to all of our veterans we honored tonight and all the service men and women who give their time and risk theirs lives so we can continue to enjoy the freedoms we have grown so accustomed to in our Country.

I hope everyone enjoyed this wonderful evening and will remember it always.

Thank you!
